Benchmate Bezel Holder…
I had an extra ring clamp for my Benchmate system so I decided to modify it for holding bezels eazily without mess.
1.) First I grinded the beveled part off of a medium sized setting burr.
2.) After that I put the extra holder in the benchmate, opened enough to easily fit the bur in, and cut the seat with a horizontal bottom dead center in the top of the ring clamp.
3.) When you feel the cutout is a good size for the majority of the work you do, then cut 2 small pieces of copper to fit inside your cutouts (so as not to mar your work).
4.) Clean the area you cut away very well, bend the copper pieces appropiately (they can stick out into the center for now, you are going to file them back when your done).
5.) Place the copper pieces carefully and close the clamp so that they are tighty fitted into the grooves.
6.) Finally, soft/lead solder the copper pieces in place, and file back as you feel necessary.
Voila! Your done. Be carefull, its very easy to mishape thinner bezels. I would reserve this tool for the heavier mountings.
